I am a Pittsburgh born-and-bred gal, with none of the slang, but most of the spunk.

Welcome to my portfolio! Here, you will find my writing samples, graphic and web design work, social media campaigns I’ve worked on, and digital photography.

Currently, I am a social media manager by day, a devoted book reader and reviewer by night, and an occasional photographer/YouTuber on the weekends. Through my day job, I am able to work on social media campaigns to help engage students and alumni of a private liberal arts college.

I want to experience as much as I can in life, exploring all of my interests, while also being a good, honest person. I hope that my spontaneous and quirky personality paired with my determined attitude will lead me to a successful career. I strive to make a difference in my community, while also educating myself on all facets of marketing, social media, higher education, communication, leadership, business, and emerging technology.

I have big goals for this life of mine. Here’s what I’ve accomplished so far:

Education & Certifications

> ¬†I graduated from Westminster College (PA)¬†with a bachelor’s degree in English and Film Studies.
> ¬†In the summer of 2014, I completed Hubspot‘s Inbound Marketing course and the Web Designer Blueprint from Skillcrush.
> ¬†In December of 2015, I graduated¬†with my Master’s Degree in Communication Technology with¬†Point Park University. I conducted research¬†on the motivations behind social media use, how different generations use technology, as well as how students interact with higher education institutions on social media.
>  I also hold a Social Media Professional certification from Hootsuite, achieved March 2015.
>  Because of my work with digital advertising and marketing, I am working on becoming Google AdWords Certified.

Expertise & Technical Skills

>  I have 3 broad specialties: digital marketing (social media, advertising, email), design (web, graphics, branding), and photography.
>  I have extensive experience in writing copy for social media, websites, and blogs. I also write numerous book reviews every month.
>  I can work with Microsoft and Apple OS, as well as the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, and Lightroom).
>  For social media campaigns, I have used the Buffer, Hootsuite, and HubSpot applications. I am experienced with all major social platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Google+, YouTube, SnapChat, GoodReads, and Yelp.
>  For digital advertising, I know how to use Facebook & Twitter advertising and Google AdWords to make relevant ads that excel.
>  For email campaigns, I have used Infusionsoft, Eloqua, Survey Monkey, Constant Contact, and MailChimp software.
>  For web design and development, I have experience using sites such as Weebly, WordPress, Wix, Tumblr, ClickFunnels, and SquareSpace. I also know how to utilize Google Analytics and Webmaster to help make websites and landing pages even better.
>  I have even used Oracle Applications, ADP Payroll, LexisNexis, and Taleo Management Systems in my HR days.

Professional Experience

> As the contracted Social Media Manager for Hanover College, I develop, implement, and manage the social media content strategy for our accounts on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
>  For nine months, I worked with the Madison Chamber & Industrial Development, relaying services and events to their membership base through social media, email campaigns, and website content.
>  I worked with the Lange Financial Group for a little over a year, working on social media, email campaigns, digital advertising, and website development. I also managed Goodreads Giveaway campaigns.
>  I was a writer for the Urban Cashmere lifestyle blog for about a year, writing about recipes, travel, and books.
>  I have also volunteered my digital marketing and social media skills to help two Pittsburgh start-up companies expand their reach.
>  Before that, I had a brief stint with Yelp Pittsburgh as the social media marketing assistant.
>  My most influential job was with the Rivers Club in Pittsburgh, PA. I worked there for two years as the social media coordinator and accounting assistant. My work greatly impacted the Club as it progressed into digital marketing.
> ¬†And, I worked as an HR assistant at¬†Macy’s for two years before I started graduate school.
>  A Boy Scouts of America camp kept me busy for two summers teaching communication, public speaking, and lifeguarding skills.
